Franks opinion in 1997

During the final week of April, 1997 John and Patsy made a television appearance with a flyer they created, asking the public for information related to their daughter’s murder case. To help encourage leads, they offered a reward of $100,000. The ad was also placed in the Boulder Daily Camera.

Not long after, a flyer that mirrored the Ramsey’s appeared in Boulder’s Downtown Mall. Rather than JonBenet’s school picture, however, these featured a still of John Ramsey from the interview from a few weeks earlier. Underneath the still someone had typed “$100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer, John Ramsey.”

Angry family friends of the Ramsys tore the fake flyers down to destroy them, but not before the media could get its hands on the story.
