The parents of JonBenet Ramsey have begun another direct-mail campaign in an attempt to identify the girl's killer.

Private investigator for the family, H. Ellis Armistead, recently sent letters to Boulder residents. The documents mailed include a copy of the handwritten ransom note found by Patsy Ramsey - the young beauty queen's mother - on Dec. 26, a flier detailing "key phrases in the note" and a message asking citizens with information regarding the crime to call the Ramseys' tip line.

John Ramsey, the girl's father, and a friend discovered the 6-year-old strangled in the basement of her University Hill home on Dec. 26.

Since the homicide, the Ramseys have placed several ads in the Sunday Camera appealing for the public's assistance. The advertisements have included:

Handwriting samples of letters from the ransom note.
Lines and plots from three popular crime movies that reportedly contain parallels to the slaying.
A plea for facts concerning "an adult male approaching young children in Boulder in late 1996." Those ads offered a $100,000 reward from the JonBenet Ramsey Children's Foundation for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the girl's murderer.
An open, signed letter from the Ramseys discussing a profile of the type of person who might have killed their daughter.

Throughout the ad campaign, John Ramsey and family attorneys have criticized the Boulder Police Department. Ramsey, for example, has said he has "grown increasingly frustrated as the investigating authorities have limited their investigation into the murder of my daughter, JonBenet Ramsey, to me and members of my family."

In addition to publicly chastising the police, Ramsey representatives mailed in early August about 1,000 fliers - specifying individual characters from the ransom note - to selected Boulder residents.

Ramsey spokeswoman Rachelle Zimmer couldn't comment on specifics of the family's most recent letter.

The current flier lists several handwritten lines from the ransom note:

"Make sure that you bring an adequate size attache to the bank."

"The delivery will be exhausting so I advise you to be rested."

"Any deviation of my instructions will result in the immediate execution of your daughter."

"You can try to deceive us but be warned that we are familiar with law enforcement countermeasures and tactics."

"You are not the only fat cat around so don't think that killing will be difficult."
