October 16, 2019 - Texas

A father was shot to death by intruders inside his home where his wife and two small children were sleeping overnight in Fort Bend County, deputies said.

This happened around 12 a.m. at the home on Glen Rosa Drive and Cansfield Way.

The sheriff's office said 29-year-old Brenton Estorffe heard a window break in the back of the house. He went to check it out and confronted the two people who broke into the home, according to officials.

That's when Estorffe was shot and killed.

Estorffe's wife called 911 to report the intruders who killed her husband. She and the children, ages 1 and 3, were not hurt.

Escondido, California - 12 year-old Stephanie Crowe's parents and grandmother found her body on the floor of her bedroom on the morning of January 21, 1998, she had been stabbed nine times. There was no sign of forced entry. Stephanie's window was found unlocked, but a screen was in place and there was no disturbance of accumulated grime and insect traces. A sliding glass door in her parents' bedroom was also unlocked. No knives were found at the scene that seemed consistent with the murder weapon, and no bloody clothing was found despite an exhaustive search.

A ‘SICK monster’ accused of murdering two boys with a hammer and knife allegedly crept into the children's home while their mother was asleep.

Mark Wilson, 30, who is the boyfriend of the boys’ aunt, was arrested Thursday in Melrose, Florida on two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 12-year-old Robert Baker and 14-year-old Tayten Baker

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said Wilson used a hammer and a knife to take the brothers’ lives, local media News4Jax reports.

Police believed the murders took place in the early morning hours of August 26 after the kids' father, a long haul trucker, had left to drive to Georgia.

The boys’ mother found their bodies in different rooms when she woke up on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

“We believe at least one of the boys was sleeping whenever the murder occurred,” Putnam County Sheriff Gator DeLoach said.

Police said the Baker family had moved to their new home about two weeks ago to be closer to family and had allowed Wilson to live in a shed on their property.
