Longmont police arrest multiple suspects connected to drug trafficking operation

Longmont police arrested multiple suspects Monday believed to be connected with a drug trafficking operation that peddled large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl and prescription drugs, according to Joel Post, a detective commander for the Longmont Police Department.
In a news release issued Tuesday afternoon, Post said police began investigating the drug distribution activities of Joshua Ward, of Longmont, in December. Utilizing various law enforcement investigative techniques, the Longmont Department of Public Safety Special Enforcement Unit identified numerous subjects in northern Colorado thought to be assisting Ward in the distribution process.
In an effort to combat the criminal organization and expand investigative capabilities, Post said the Special Enforcement Unit partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Tactical Diversion Squad, Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, and the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. During the investigation, local, state and federal law enforcement officers identified more than 50 involved parties and possible co-conspirators, seized 1,472 counterfeit 30-milligram oxycodone hydrochloride pills (fentanyl), 3 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.64 pounds of ephedrine, 288 Schedule II synthetic opioid pills, 18.7 grams of cocaine, 6.7
Through the coordination with the district attorney’s office, the Longmont Special Enforcement Unit and the DEA, Post said a large number of co-conspirators were identified and are suspected to be involved in various crimes, including drug trafficking, weapons offenses and numerous violations of the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, a Class Two felony offense with a possible penalty of 24 years. While the investigation is ongoing, it has already led to the arrest of 20 suspected members of the drug trafficking organization. Members of the drug trafficking organization were charged with, among other offenses, weapons, and organized crimes offenses.

All defendants are presumed innocent and charges must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, the release stated.
Law enforcement officials are continuing to pursue suspects based on evidence obtained throughout the investigation, Post said.

- Ward, 83 charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, multiple charges for distribution of a controlled substance and money laundering. Ward’s bond has been set at $1 million.
- Michael Reed, 43 charges including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, conspiracy to commit money laundering and possession with intent to manufacture or distribute a controlled substance. Reed’s bond was set at $1 million.
- Anastacia Rose, 18 charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act and multiple distribution of a controlled substance charges. Rose’s bond was set at $200,000
- Geraldine Vodicka, five charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Vodicka’s bond was set at $200,000.
- David Childers, seven charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Childers’ bond was set at $200,000.
- Brandy Langenderfer, eight charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Langenderfer’s bond was set at $200,000.
- Brenden Pesick, five charges, including two counts of violation of Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. Pesick ‘s bond was set at $150,000.
- Ashley Nail, three charges. Nail’s bond was set at $100,000.
- Chad Lang, four charges. Lang’s bond was set at $100,000.
- Michael Courtney, three charges. Courtney’s bond was set at $80,000.
- Ramon Lurbe was charged with conspiracy — controlled substance. Lurbe’s bond was set at $80,000.
- Danita Bauer was charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Bauer’s bond was set at $50,000.
- David Lopez was charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Lopez’s bond was set at $50,000.
- Steven Johnston was charged with conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,000.
- Joshua Antony, two charges. Antony’s bond was set at $5,000.
- Connie Medina, four charges. Medina’s bond was set at $2,500.
- Amy “Guzzy” Brackett, received one charge. Brackett’s bond was set at $2,500.
- Steven Lucero one charge. Lucero’s bond was set at $2,500.
- Jose Gutierrez Herrera, arrested on a warrant for controlled substances, according to Boulder County Jail records. His bond is set at $2,500
- Collin Kopitzke is in custody in the Larimer County Jail. Charges against him were not provided by Longmont police.
